KONG: SKULL ISLAND

My role: Senior Designer

International, multiplatform and cross-channel marketing campaign design for Kong: Skull Island up to the film’s release in March 2017.

I designed the initial concept of the Discover Skull Island viral site which was a key touchpoint for fans. It also formed a part of a successful marketing stunt with Google Maps profiling the island as a destination, engaging 3.2 million fans on Twitter.

Tribal stone painting asset

The rock texture and tribal painting is a global asset I recreated based on the film for many print-ready assets around the world. The artwork was used for a series of Kong events, including at the Ace Hotel in LA, VR stands in multiple Chinese shopping malls, an outdoor installation for a Taiwanese cinema and the London premiere.

Photo retouching and signage

I retouched and art-worked print images for a range of marketing assets. The two examples on the right are from photo exhibitions at press junkets in Los Angeles and London.

Kong-branded materials and social ads

I worked on a variety of assets, including Kong-branded popcorn boxes and social media graphics.

Retail display and event mockups

I also worked on a range of displays for retail partners including H&M, and produced a concept mock-up for the UK film premiere.
